It stands at an impressive altitude of 6,096 meters, rising dramatically between Dalsangpa and Khuspang camp in the Hushe Valley. Its distinctive needle-like shape makes it a popular destination for nature lovers and skiers alike.

On this day of the Laila Peak Expedition, we'll take a morning flight to Skardu, the logistical hub for expeditions in the Karakoram Range. The flight from Islamabad offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the Karakoram mountains, with Nanga Parbat standing out among the peaks. Once we arrive in Skardu, a member of our team will be there to escort you to the partner hotel. If we arrive early, you'll have some time to relax and explore the local bazaar and the scenic outskirts of Skardu. You’ll stay in a hotel room on a twin-sharing basis, with meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided.
Skardu is a picturesque town nestled along the Indus River, surrounded by majestic mountains. After breakfast, we’ll embark on an acclimatization hike to Kharpocho Fort, located just a short distance from the Skardu bazaars. This historic fort offers stunning views of the Indus River, Skardu, and the surrounding landscape. In the afternoon, you’ll have the chance to check your climbing gear, and if you need to buy anything, you can explore the bazaar for shopping or sightseeing. Throughout the day, our guide will assist you, while our office staff in Skardu handles the necessary paperwork, which typically gets cleared within a day, although it may take longer in some cases.
Hushe Valley serves as a hub for mountaineering activities in the Karakoram Range, thanks to its abundance of peaks and climbers. We’ll embark on a 5- to 7-hour jeep drive from Skardu to Hushe Village, with our crew and supplies in tow. About two and a half hours into the journey, we’ll reach Khaplu, the capital town of the valley. As we make our way through the Gangche Valley, the landscape narrows, and the track winds along the Shyok River. Our porters will join us in Hushe Village, which is the last settlement before we begin the Laila Peak Expedition. We’ll stay in a cozy hotel or lodge, where you can relax with a hot cup of tea, cookies, and snacks. After dinner, we’ll settle in for the night at the lodge, ready for the adventure ahead.
On the first day of our trek to Laila Peak Base Camp, we’ll set off early in the morning from Hushe Valley, heading towards Siacho Camp. Siacho is a pastoral area where you can find herds of cattle and their caretakers. It’s a picturesque camping site by the river, offering stunning views of Drifitkhar Peak. The trek will take approximately 4 to 5 hours.
On the second day of the Laila Peak Expedition, we’ll depart from Siacho Camp early in the morning. The terrain will be slightly steep as we make our way toward Dalchungpa, where we’ll set up camp in front of the magnificent Masherbrum Peak. This day’s trek will take approximately 4 to 6 hours. We’ll be camping in tents on a twin-sharing basis, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.
This is the most challenging day of the Laila Peak Expedition. We’ll climb up onto the Gondogoro Glacier, trekking for the next 5 to 6 hours until we reach Laila Peak Base Camp at an elevation of 4,600 meters. Here, we’ll set up camp and stay overnight for the next couple of days, allowing us to acclimatize and prepare for the ascent. The breathtaking views and the sense of achievement will make this effort worthwhile!
During this period, we’ll focus on acclimatization and climbing activities at Laila Peak. Climbing Gondogoro Peak is an ideal option for acclimatization, allowing us to adjust to the altitude while enjoying stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Each day will include climbing sessions, rest, and preparation for the final ascent. Our experienced guides will ensure that everyone is well-supported and ready for the challenges ahead. The breathtaking scenery and exhilarating climbs will make these days truly memorable as we work towards summiting Laila Peak!
Today, we’ll begin our trek back to Siacho Camp. We’ll start by trekking on the Gondogoro Glacier for about an hour until we reach Dalchungpa, where we’ll enjoy stunning views of Masherbrum along the way. After lunch at Dalchungpa, we’ll continue our trek through the picturesque pastures of Gondogoro, making our way back to Siacho Camp.
On this Day of Laila Peak Expedition, we will be back to civilization. we will resume the trek back to Hushe Valley.
Today, our jeeps will take us back to Skardu city, marking the end of our Laila Peak Expedition. Once in Skardu, you’ll have the chance to relax, wash up, and enjoy some shopping or sightseeing in the area. This is a great time to explore the local culture and pick up souvenirs to remember your adventure. As we conclude this incredible journey, take a moment to reflect on the stunning landscapes and experiences shared with fellow climbers.
If all goes smoothly, we'll take a PIA flight back to Islamabad, enjoying the aerial views of the stunning landscapes below.
In the event of flight cancellations, we will drive to Chilas. This scenic drive offers a unique opportunity to experience the beautiful terrain of northern Pakistan. The journey will take several hours, but it’s a chance to appreciate the natural beauty and vibrant culture along the way.
As our adventure comes to an end, it’s time to say goodbye to all the climbers. We hope you leave with unforgettable memories and new friendships forged during this incredible journey.
