Over 12 days, we'll embark on a challenging round trip through the heart of the Karakoram, reaching the breathtaking base camp by the fourth day. This route, while not heavily traveled, allows us to immerse ourselves in the untouched wilderness of the region.
Accessing the Spantik Base Camp Trek is straightforward: starting from Islamabad, we’ll travel to Skardu, then drive through Shigar and Arandu, where the real trekking adventure begins. Get ready for an extraordinary experience filled with stunning landscapes and unforgettable memories!

After pickup, you’ll be transferred to our partner hotel to relax and recover from your journey.
Participants traveling this morning will enjoy a stunning flight from Islamabad to Skardu, with a chance to see Nanga Parbat, weather permitting. Upon arrival in Skardu, the day is yours to explore at your leisure.
After breakfast, participants will hike to Kharpocho Fort, perched on a mountain with breathtaking views of the Indus River and Skardu town. You’ll also have the option to visit Sadpara Lake, followed by free time for shopping in Skardu Bazaar. While you enjoy the sights, our staff will handle the necessary government documentation, which may take up to two days. We’ve built in contingency days at the end of the trek to accommodate any delays.
On Day 4, we’ll participate in a crucial briefing conducted by the tourism ministry of Pakistan, which will include both foreign trekkers and local guides. This formal session is essential for gaining access to the open zones of Central Karakoram National Park (CKNP). After the briefing, we’ll finalize our preparations and gear up for our exciting journey to Spantik Base Camp. It’s a day to ensure everything is in place before we embark on our adventure!
After breakfast, we’ll set off on a thrilling adventure in 4x4 Willy’s jeeps, enjoying a full day’s ride along a winding jeep trail to Arandu. This journey takes us through stunning landscapes, culminating at the last inhabited area before reaching the Chogolungma Glacier. Get ready for a scenic ride filled with breathtaking views!
After breakfast trek to Chogo Brangsa. Today we will leave the last inhabited village of Arandu. For the remaining portion of our journey, we will rely on our local team who will carry our food and equipment. The first day of trekking is quite short following the grassy valley on the northern side of the Chogo lungma Glacier.
Our trail today spans 4 to 6 hours and leads us to the mouth of the Chogolungma Glacier. Upon reaching Mani Kuru, we’ll encounter local shepherds and their flocks, as this area serves as a summer settlement. Here, you'll also get your first breathtaking view of Spantik Peak, setting the stage for the adventures to come!
After breakfast trek towards Spantik base camp. Today we will cross Chogo Lungma Glacier. We gently gain height as we approach base camp at the foot of Spantik’s South East Ridge. Camping at Balocho Campsite.
6-7 hours trek to the base camp of Spantik Peak.
Rest day at base camp and meeting with Spantik Expedition Members
Trek back via the same route to Bukum.
Trek back via the same route to Arandu stay at Arando Hotel.
After breakfast jeep drive to Skardu. Overnight stay in a hotel at Skardu.
On this day, participants will fly from Skardu to Islamabad, enjoying time to relax at the hotel upon arrival.
Please note that domestic flights may be canceled due to weather conditions. In the event of a cancellation, you'll drive to Chilas for an overnight stay, which takes about eight to ten hours by vehicle.
